Long Star Livin’

Anyone who knows anything about Texas knows that Texas is the Lone Star state.  It flies its flag everywhere like it is still a separate country.  The Pittsburgh Penguins will travel to Texas tomorrow night to face the Dallas Stars.  Both teams have bounced back with 2 major wins after suffering an annihilating loss.  See below:

Pittsburgh Penguins (36-13-2, 1st Metropolitan Division with 74 points)

Jan 23: @ New York Islanders (W 6-4)

Jan 22: Montréal Canadiens (W 5-1)

Jan 20: Florida Panthers (L 5-1)

------------------------------------------------------------------

Dallas Stars (23-20-8, 5th Central Division with 54 points)

Jan 23: Toronto Maple Leafs (W 7-1)

Jan 21: Minnesota Wild (W 4-0)

Jan 20: @Nashville Predators (L 4-1)

------------------------------------------------------------------

Expect another high scoring game with 6 or more total goals.  The players to watch are Sidney Crosby with 72 points, 27 goals, and 45 assists, and Tyler Seguin with 47 points and 21 goals.  Although they are in different Divisions, the Penguins have a 20 point goal lead over the Stars.  The only teams with more points are: Chicago Blackhawks (32-9-12, 76 points), and the Anaheim Ducks         (38-10-5, 81 points).  I believe that Penguins will give the Stars are old fashion, Texas whooping; however, I still do not have a very good feeling about all the goals the Penguins are giving up.  They need to fix this in case they run into a premier goaltender like Jonathan Quick.  Watch tomorrow night's game on Channel 659 for DirecTV subscribers, ROOT.
