Long, Long Island

The Penguins will travel tonight to the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY.  Tonight will be the final, regular season meeting between the Penguins and the Islanders.  In all the previous three match-ups, each of the games came down to the wire, and were decided by one goal.

October 25: Islanders 4 Penguins 3

November 22: Penguins 4 Islanders 3

December 3: Penguins 3 Islanders 2 (OT)

The Vegas experts have the Penguins the favorite and the over/under at 6 goals.  If the Penguins want to be a serious Stanley Cup contender, then they need to give up fewer goals.  The two players to watch are Sid “The Kid” Crosby and John Tavares.  Both players are “neck-and-neck” concerning points, goals, and assists.

Pittsburgh Penguins (35-13-2, 1st Metropolitan)

69 Points: Sidney Crosby

26 Goals: Sidney Crosby

43 Assists: Sidney Crosby

New York Islanders (21-24-7, 8th place Metropolitan)

62 Points: John Tavares

23 Goals: John Tavares

39 Assists: John Tavares

Even though this is the first place team against the last place team in the Metropolitan, expect a high scoring, great match-up.  Be sure to watch tonight’s match-up on the NBC Sports Network or ROOT Sports Pittsburgh.  Enjoy!
