Capture the King and Checkmate
Tomorrow night, the Penguins (37-14-2, 1st Metropolitan) square off against the Los Angeles Kings (30-19-6, 3rd Pacific Division). Los Angeles is clearly in a more competitive division than the Penguins as they trail the Sharks and the Ducks in the standings. The Penguins are coming off a 3-0 shutout victory over the Buffalo Sabres, while the Kings off a 3-0 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes, which oddly enough, is the Penguins' next opponent.
The Kings are a dangerous opponent who give up few goals; however, they have lost 4 of their last five contests. One of the reasons for the Kings' "stingy" goaltending is their veteran, Jonathan Quick. This should be an interesting match-up since the Penguins give up a lot of goals, and the Kings cannot seem to score goals.
The notables for tomorrow night's match-up are Sidney Crosby with 26 goals and Jeff Carter with 20 goals. Since the Penguins will be at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the game will be televised at 10:30 PM EST. I will staying up to watch, will you?
