Canadiens de Montréal

Can you speak French?  Well, you don’t have to know French to realize that the Penguins got blown off the ice last night.  While Marc-Andre Fleury is still our best goaltender, he is often criticized for giving up soft goals.  Will this spark the Penguins to put Zatkoff in goal like they did with Tomas Vokoun?  The Penguins and the Canadiens are coming off 5 goal losses in their previous contests.  The Penguins lost   5-1 to the Florida Panthers, and the Canadiens lost 5-3 to the Maple Leafs.  The Penguins will get a chance to redeem themselves with tomorrow’s 7 PM match-up.  The team leaders to watch are:

Montréal Canadiens (27-17-5, 3rd in Atlantic)

Subban (35 points)

Subban (27 assists)

Pacioretty (21 goals)

Pittsburgh Penguins (34-13-2, 1st in Metropolitan)

Crosby (68 points)

Crosby (43 assists)

Crosby (25 goals)

P.K. Subban and Sidney Crosby have been archrivals, and have been in several fights.  In this year’s previous meeting, the Penguins  lost  3-2.  They will face the Canadiens for a third time on February 27 at home.  This is an important game for the Canadiens as they trail the Boston Bruins in the Atlantic Division by 6 points.  On the other hand, the Penguins lead the New York Rangers by 13 points with Feb 7th match-up forthcoming.  I am not going to make a prediction in tomorrow’s match-up.  I just hope that the Penguins solve their goalie woes.  Tomorrow’s game can be seen on Channel 659 DirecTV ROOT Sports Pittsburgh.
