Black and Yellow

Tonight at 7:30 PM, the Pittsburgh Penguins host the Boston Bruins on ROOT and NBC Sports.  This is going to be a match-up of the "Black and Yellow" or if you are anal retentive, the Black and Old Gold (Penguins) vs the Black and Yellow (Bruins).

Anyway, the Penguins are coming off a 6-1 thrashing of the New York Islanders.  Meanwhile, the Boston Bruins are coming off a close 3-2 shootout over the Ottawa Senators.  Tonight's match-up has playoff hocking implications.  See the particulars below:

PITTSBURGH PENGUINS (18-8-0, 1ST Place Atlantic)

Goals Per Game: 3.7

Goals Against Average: 2.9

Power Play Percentage: 26%

Penalty Kill Percentage: 78.8%

BOSTON BRUINS (17-3-3, 2ND Place Northeast)

Goals Per Game: 2.9

Goals Against Average: 2.1

Power Play Percentage: 15.5%

Penalty Kill Percentage: 92.3%

The statistic that really scares me is that the Bruins are killing 92.3% of penalties; therefore, power play goals will come at a premium.  In goal, expect to see Marc-Andre Fleury vs. Tuukka Rask.  This is sure to be a battle.  Take the Penguins to win and under 5.5 total goals.
